Refining Nasolabial Folds

Softening Smile Lines, Nose-To-Mouth Lines, Smile Folds

Loss of facial volume can create lines and folds that appear from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. By adding filler to this area you can instantly soften your look and smooth out the lines.

These lines are commonly caused by loss of volume to the upper and mid cheek, which in turn causes the cheeks to sag and makes the nasolabial folds heavier. I will assess your face to see if you would benefit from filler to the cheeks as well.

Nasolabial folds are commonly treated every 12-24 months depending on how deep they are and how much product is used during the treatment (nowadays most of the fillers contain a tiny amount of lidocaine in them to help gently numb the area during treatment so it's comfortable). In addition, I can also add a topical cream before your treatment to numb the surface of the skin or a cold compress to make the injection even more comfortable for you.

It is important as an injector to recognize that we never want to efface or completely remove this fold. You had that fold even as a child or young adult and therefore you should still have it now! If the line or fold is completely removed you will probably have an undesirable, puffy look. And others may notice something is different and unusual about your facial appearance.

On average, people typically require half to one syringe for this area, but of course this depends on the individual.

As soon as the treatment is finished you will notice the improvements and softening of the folds right away.

This area may bruise a little so keep in mind your upcoming social events for planning your treatment.
